Much like our ethos in swim coaching, we believe that every athlete is individual and therefore deserves to be coached in an individual manner. We do not use a ‘one size fits all’ training program, because one size rarely fits all!

During our initial consultation, we will talk through your goals on a short, medium and long-term basis whilst also carefully discussing important information which will help us build a truly unique training plan with an athlete-centred approach.

We will consider such things as:

  • Goals – this could range from simply wanting to complete a race, right through to wanting to qualify for Ironman World Championships
  • Training availability – We understand that pursuing triathlon can be a daunting prospect for the busy working or family person. We understand this commitment because we have been through it ourselves. We will work with you to help you arrange training around your busy schedule.
  • Strengths and Weaknesses – We work alongside industry-leading sports therapists and Physiotherapists to help strengthen any historic injury, or prevent new injuries from occurring. We also listen to our athletes and help them use their strengths to support their weaknesses.
  • Training facilities and equipment – We have developed a great relationship with local facility managers, as well as local equipment specialists to ensure you have access to the very best information when choosing your bike, running shoes, swimming equipment or gym facilities. We have you covered!

Using Training Peaks

At TriSwim we use the Training Peaks coaching platform to help us deliver our training plans.

Training Peaks provides a complete web, mobile and desktop solution for enabling smart and effective endurance training whether you are at home, at work or traveling – you will always have access to your plan. The Training Peaks platform allows cutting-edge scientific analysis and planning of your training programme to ensure you get the most out of your workouts. It is used by Tour de France teams, Ironman World Champions, Olympians, and age group athletes and coaches around the world to track, analyse and plan their training.

All of our coaching levels now include a Premium TrainingPeaks account allowing you will get access to much more detail about your workouts. We will programme your personal data into TrainingPeaks and include things like heart rate and power zones. This allows much more detailed analysis of your workouts so if needed adjustments can be made as your training progresses.

We Care

Our view is that the better the relationship between coach and athlete, the more value the athlete will get out of their training. This means that online coaching works best when there is regular communication between us. Regular communication methods usually include a phone or Skype call. We also communicate via all the usual channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Text and Email – whatever suits you best.

All of our coaching packages include coach’s analysis. This means that on an ongoing basis we will review your completed training sessions within TrainingPeaks and make notes and feedback comments for you to see and for us to talk about during our scheduled calls. You will be given access to your own personal feedback webpage where you can review the coaching notes at any time.
