Based in the stunning heartland of Royal Tunbridge Wells, the Beacon boasts three small Victorian spring-fed lakes which made Royal Tunbridge Wells a famous a royal spa town. Victorians from all over the United Kingdom would travel to Royal Tunbridge Wells to sample the town’s water as it was largely believed to have healing properties. We couldn’t agree more!
The lakes at the Beacon are perfect for those looking to escape busy and turbulent lifestyles to reconnect with nature and water, whilst enjoying the award-winning food, drink and warm service offered by the Beacon team.
The calm, clean and protected lakes are the perfect setting for those just getting started in their open water swimming journey, for those that work from home and are looking for lunchtime escapes, or simply people that value the healing properties of water in quiet, serene and luscious surroundings.
This is a ‘wild’ venue and as such, access can be tricky underfoot as you navigate through the beautiful meadows to the lakes. Sadly, there is no disabled access.
Well behaved dogs welcome.
Free parking is located behind the main restaurant carpark, please follow signs.

You do not need a TriSwim annual membership to swim at The Beacon, you can swim with us as a non member. However, joining with TriSwim discounts each swim and offers LOADS benefits.
Please note that children under the age of 16 swims FOR FREE with each paying adult.

Every child under the age of 16 will swim free with a paying adult.
If you are bringing your child, you must either remain in the water or on site at all times your child is in the water.
Open Water 2023 at The Beacon you do not need to have a membership but you will need to book your swims in advance. Your membership is a subscription which you can opt out of and cancel auto renewing from your account at any time.
The time indicated on the ticket is the start time of the sessions, but you are free to arrive anytime between the start time and the end time of the session.
Buying membership offers you discounted swims at all venues, the benefit of being able to manage your own bookings either by cancelling a swim and obtaining a refund (if cancelled within 3 days prior to the booking), or rescheduling your swim up to 3 days prior to the start of the booking, access to all lakes and events, nutritional support and plans within your account area, discounted coaching, priority and discounted event entry, partner offers and more.
Please note that if you are booking a non-member swim ticket, please do so carefully as we cannot process any refunds or change your booking once ordered. If you would like to be able to obtain a refund or rescheduling, please join as a member.
Once purchased, your membership is automatic and stored on our database - you can purchase a swim ticket as soon as membership is purchased. You will find the discounted swim price for members only only AFTER you have purchased a membership.
Member swim - £ 8.50 per swim
Non member swim - £12 per swim
